Supported by a team of 10 individuals and nearly 100 staff, OE services nearly 60 consumers in our most independent residential program. We help coordinate a place to live, financial stability, menu planning, grocery shopping, sport participation and medical needs. Most of our consumers live in Porter County and become valued members of our community. The clients in our program participate in meaningful day activities which may include attendance at one of our four Day Programs or supported community-based employment.
Our Staff of dedicated Professionals counsel and educate consumers on important daily tasks, including:
- Health and Safety
- Household Management
- Money Management
- Recreation and Leisure
- Social Skills
- Daily Living Skills
These are merely the technical elements of the program. The true worth lies in the relationship - a crucial bond between consumer and staff. Our staff make a commitment to promote independence and self-sufficiency to our consumers. Families and friends are encouraged to participate in the program with their loved one through visits, contact with staff, the Supported Living Team, and the Case Manager. |
