Convenient and accessible to persons with disabilities.
Deliver curb-to-curb service in a clean and comfortable vehicle.
OE Express is available throughout Porter County and portions of Lake and LaPorte counties.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Service will not be available on holidays or weekends. Unscheduled closing due to weather or other emergencies will be announced on the radio at 105.5 WLJE-FM.

Fares

$7.50 one-way within Porter County

$10.00 one-way outside of Porter County

Cash and checks are accepted for all trips. Medicaid is accepted only for medical appointment trips.

How to Make a Reservation

Call (219) 464-9621 ext. 227 (voice/relay) Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arrangements for transportation can be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Reservation must be made through the dispatcher at the office; drivers cannot take your reservation.

What Information Will I Need to Ride the OE Express?

Whenever you make a reservation for a ride, please be prepared to give the following information:

First and last name
Exact address and phone number of pick-up location
Exact address of your destination
Requested arrival time and departure time
If you will be traveling with a personal care attendant
If you need the lift to board the vehicle
Medicaid number (if applicable)

What is My Pick Up Time?

OE Express pick-up times are scheduled so we pick you up as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible. Your pick-up time will be reconfirmed when the dispatcher calls the day before your appointment to verify your ride.

How do I Cancel a Reservation?

We ask that you call two hours in advance of your scheduled pick-up time to cancel a scheduled ride.

What are the driver's responsibilities?

It is the responsibility of the driver to deliver you from your pick up location to your destination. They will deploy the lift upon request; however, if you need assistance, a personal assistant may accompany you free of charge. The driver cannot enter your home or any other establishment.
