Opportunity Enterprises is offering a summer day camp for children ages 8-21 with developmental disabilities at its Respite Home located at 478 High Meadow Circle in Valparaiso.

Summer Day Camp Activities Calendar

Opportunity Enterprises offers respite services to provide caregiver relief.  The Respite Program is staffed with Direct Service Professionals who are certified in CPR, First Aid and passing medications, and have extensive training in the care of disabled individuals.  Parents and caregivers get the chance to have time for themselves, while allowing the individual for whom they care the opportunity to go out into the community, socialize and partake in activities independently. Respite services are provided in various settings and focus on working with the participant to improve their quality of life. 

Services are now being provided at our day facilities--weekdays until 8pm at OE Valpo and Lakeside and weekends from 8am to 8pm at Lakeside.  Please refer to the calendar of activities for individuals participating in facility-based Respite. In-home Respite services are available for residents within Valparaiso city limits and will focus on acquiring daily living skills.

Respite Services are also provided at Opportunity Enterprises’ new Respite Home in Jackson Township, Porter County.  Families and caregivers can take a full vacation or enjoy a weekend getaway and feel confident that their loved one is in good hands. The home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a pool, and can be staffed by Direct Service Professionals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
