FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Still Time to Signup for OE Chicago Marathon or Popcorn Panic Teams
Registration is still open for runners interested in joining Opportunity Enterprises' Running Programs, which have raised over $1 million since 1999. Last year, nearly 500 runners raised over $210,000 for OE.
The OE Marathon Team prepares members to complete the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12, 2008. To date, nearly 300 Porter and Lake County residents have registered for the team. All runners, without regard to age, fitness level, or ability, are welcome. To find out more, or to register for the team, visit www.oerunners.org or contact Chris Schneidt at 464-9621, ext. 233 or christene.schneidt@oppent.org.
The Popcorn Panic Team trains runners or walkers with little or no experience to complete the Popcorn Panic 5-mile Run or 5K Walk on September 6, 2008. Team members pay a $25 registration fee and agree to raise an additional $125 for Opportunity Enterprises. To join the team, contact Chris Schneidt at 464-9621, ext. 233 or christene.schneidt@oppent.org.
Since 1967, OE has been a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting self-sufficiency and life choices for challenged individuals. OE serves over 1,700 individuals in Porter County and throughout Northwest Indiana.
