Call Out for Walking Buddies Program Volunteers

PRESS RELEASE Contact: Cynthia Randall Opportunity Enterprises 464-9621, ext. 258 cynthia.randall@oppent.org For Immediate Release: Call Out for Walking Buddies Program Volunteers The Walking Buddies program at Opportunity Enterprises is seeking volunteers to walk with OE clients and staff on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. beginning June 10. The group will meet at OE, 2801 Evans Avenue, and walk through the neighborhoods surrounding the agency. Walking Buddies is a casual walking which allows OE clients, staff and community volunteers to walk together throughout the summer. The goals of the program are to allow clients to enjoy some exercise and social interaction, allow volunteers to meet some amazing OE clients, and, mostly, to have fun! Participants have the option to participate in the Popcorn Panic 5K Walk on September 10, 2008. There is no registration fee or fundraising requirement required. Participants in the program will receive a Walking Buddies t-shirt, and anyone who attends at least 50% of the group walks will receive free registration for the Popcorn Panic 5K Walk.
