For Immediate Release:
Opportunity Enterprises' Family and Friends Together Host Program on Vocational Rehabilitation
Family and friends of individuals with disabilities will have the opportunity to learn about Vocational Rehabilitation, as presented by Dianne O'Brien, a supervisor within Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation, at the OE Family and Friends Together meeting on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at OE.
In order to reach as many parents and friends as possible, we "Ask Each One to Reach One," encouraging all parents to bring a friend or another parent to the meeting in order to pass information to as many people as possible. Guests are welcome at this event.
The Family and Friends Together meetings are part of an Opportunity Enterprises initiative, Family and Consumer Supports. The program will provide support for parents, siblings, guardians and friends of consumers, as well as an outlet to be actively engaged with loved ones. It was created by Opportunity Enterprises as it prepares for the increasing number of challenged individuals seeking services as they transition into new programs, the community or the workforce. The objective of this program is to better serve current and potential OE consumer families by sharing resources, information and volunteer opportunities. Family and Consumer Supports
Those interested in attending the meeting are asked to enter Opportunity Enterprises at the Training Room, Entrance #2, at the north end of the building. For more information, please feel free to contact the Development Department at Opportunity Enterprises at 219-464-9621.
Since 1967, OE has been a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting self-sufficiency and life choices for challenged individuals. OE serves over 1,700 individuals in Porter County and throughout Northwest Indiana.
