Kankakee Valley REMC Grant awarded to Opportunity Enterprises

Opportunity Enterprises was recently awarded a $3,570 grant from the Operation Roundup Trust, part of Kankakee Valley REMC, to purchase outdoor recreational equipment for OE’s new facility, Lakeside Opportunities, a 158-acre property that is centrally located on the border of Lake and Porter counties on the shores of Lake Eliza. Two of OE's day-service programs for adults, Renewed Horizons Adult Day Center and Enriching Possibilities, are now based at Lakeside Opportunities. The new facility includes a 13,000 sq. ft. program center and provides much needed space for Opportunity Enterprises to expand its traditional day services, while also offering innovative wellness programs, outdoor education, and diversified recreation activities. Opportunity Enterprises is dedicated to promoting self-sufficiency and life choices for challenged individuals. Through a variety of services, enrichment programs and vocational opportunities, OE provides assistance and employment for hundreds of individuals in Porter County and throughout Northwest Indiana.
