The Nursing team at OE ensures individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive the medical care and health oversight they need to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity. Our nursing team provides compassionate, person‑centered support that promotes wellness, independence, and quality of life. 

Participants in the following programs benefit from our Nursing team in a variety of ways:

  • Individuals who live in a Supported Living site receive individualized support from OE’s Nursing team. 
  • Direct Support Professionals have 24/7 access to our on-call nurse for client support and medical questions. 
  • Clients receive personalized health oversight to support ongoing wellness.
  • Our Medical Liaisons schedule, coordinate, and attend all routine and as-needed medical appointments. They provide transportation, advocate for clients during visits, and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Personalized health plans, medication management, and coordinated medical care provided by our nurses meet Wellness Coordination standards through Indiana’s Bureau of Disabilities Services—promoting safety, consistency, and quality of life. Wellness Coordination services extend beyond what is offered during routine doctor visits. 
  • Prescription medications are managed through a partner pharmacy who assists with refills and coordination of all prescribed medication and prepares individualized packaging for each client.

  • Individuals who live in a Group Home receive individualized support from OE’s Nursing team.

  • Each Day Program location has a nurse on-site to assist with medical needs and emergencies. 
  • The Nursing team is available as a resource for clients who wish to speak with a trained medical professional during the day. 
  • Our Nursing team administers prescribed medications throughout the day as needed.
